My friends and I just came back from paddling a couple rivers in the lower mainland and enjoyed ourselves despite the lower water levels, what can you expect from January paddling I guess.

Here’s a little visual kayak treat. Stakeout is a movie shot in Quebec, these guys are playboating on some of the biggest features I’ve seen. Looks amazing.

And if you don’t mind heading a bit further south you should check out the Santa Cruz Kayak Surf Festival 2010, March 26-28.

The Sea Kayaking course was 3 days in class and then 4 days paddling in Tofino. The drive took us around 10 hours including the ferry. We stayed at the Paddlers inn, sweet accommodations. We had our own kitchen, 5 bedrooms, two bathrooms with showers. Wish every trip was like this. Our days were spent kayaking around the inlets and open coast of Tofino. We spent a lot of time surfing waves on Chestermans beach on our second day. And on our third day it was so foggy we had to work on compass work because we couldn’t see in front of us.
